Thanks David! Rustic it most certainly is - the floors can be irritating when moving stuff about, but on the whole I like my shop very much! I only just found out about this forum, and it's a very cool place. I like it. My dining room is currebtly acting as another workshop. Yesterday I pulled one of the headers off the Bonneville and welded a bung in it for an a/f gauge. Hoping to learn a fair bit with that. Inspired by Ventura to do that of course! Bike as of right now: Weld job on header - not by me. I wish I could weld. Something else to learn one day. When I get this all finished up I'll post a thread about it. I'm using a datalogging setup instead of the handlebar mounted gauge. Supposedly I should be able to record a/f ratio at the same time as engine revs, and then graph it out. We shall see.

OK, latest winter project: After seeing the 50th anniversary Bonnie, I really thought the white side covers were a great idea. So I had a buddy do a little painting for me. Then we put on some stickers from the Smithsonian American Indian museum -- contemporary native artists working with modern interpretations of traditional themes and subject matter. Here's the turtle: Eagle on the other side: Here's me behind the bike: Unfortunately, the other buddy who took the picture didn't realize that I also wanted the saddle bags: The Triumph bags were just too small -- these have an expansion gusset that almost doubles their size.

There's just enough room behind the footpegs for Mrs. Doc's boots to fit.
I threaded the straps under the seat (after removing it, of course) then ended up tying the inner D rings to the saddlebag supports with a small length of nylon cord.

That's sweet -- and I like how the dog has a matching paint job! If he rides a lot, you should consider getting him some eye protection: DogglesReally -- you don't want your pup getting a scratched cornea.
