Ha, ha. Actually the guy who worked on my engine left out the front case bolt so I'm waiting to get that to put on the exhaust. You may have noticed with your keen eye that the carb is missing too. I wanted to put on the original enricher/choke. Again, waiting for parts.
It's been hurry up and wait with this bike for some time now.
High pipes on order, two months delay from the UK. I'll run the stock system for a while.

Lookin' good Rich!! Great stuff!
She's gonna turn out a beauty for sure. Really like the colour scheme.
Whats your estimate for the first test run?

Thanks, Mr. V! I'm trying to see if I can afford next day air on some parts. If I got the $$ I hope to be riding next week.

I did want to post one more photo of the bike in a complete state. I have high pipes on order that will, in my mind, finish the bike. I'll shoot off another photo when those are on. There are some adjustment, loose connections and leak issues to address, but the bike runs. It's been a long, expensive, trying journey. But I love my bike. It has become a member of the family.

That is beautiful! A question about the thrittle cable - it looks long, and floppy. Is it supposed to loop so far from the bike?

Don't know, Dave. I have it routed up the backbone of the frame. I guess I could have it come up through behind the headlight, but there would still be plenty of slack. It was the cable that was on the bike when I got it. Maybe Ron, Bruce or someone else can give me some advice. The whole cable routing job was catch as catch can. I would look at photos, but there are no specific instructions that I could find.

Hah! I wrote "thrittle" cable.
I recall my old parts/mechanic guy chiding me for poorly routed cables saying the only problem would be snagging it on something. A buddy has a '65 BSA and his cable has a similar big loop. Seems, in his case, the cable is too long plus straight forward routing from the throttle to under front of the tank and back. I like things tucked away if possible. Hope you take and post more pictures of that bike - close ups, different angles, etc. How's it ride?

She's a real beauty! Well done on a great job Rich. Im sure she'll be a joy to ride too. Looking at the throttle cable, I think you have the wrong one fitted. It seems much too long for the job. Maybe it should be routed towards the top of the forks and then along the spine, possibly even loosely tied to the brake cable? Sure it'll be an easy fix tho. Be sure to post some more photos for us! V.

Maybe Ron, Bruce or someone else can give me some advice. Hopefully,Ron will have an idea, because I searched my whole manual and couldn't find a damn thing about any thrittle cable. However,I did notice that you have the wrong handlebars on the bike. It's obvious that, judging from the length of that throttle cable, you're supposed to have 18 inch high ape hangers on that thing.I'm not a big fan of apes myself,so I'd cheat, and just put a shorter cable on there. Stock, they're routed down, like yours, then over under the headlight, and between the fork stanchions, then straight back under the tank. You want kind of a big, lazy loop(but not as big as yours),with no sharp bends.Makes the throttle work smoother, and the cable last longer. Personally,I'd rotate the housing so the cable exits forward, then route it forward, and beside the light, between the instrument cables. That's not correct,I know, but I feel more comfortable that way.Just a holdover from my dirtbike days. Either way,ape hangers will solve the problem ;D.

Iam afraid not Bruce i have never had a triumph twin Richs model series, just my preunit model with the narcell. but I have built countless cables, I make my own up so what i would do in Richs position is something simple, he has a cable thats too long so firstly remove the tank and diconnect the cable from where it activates the clutch down below and run a nice neat cable run through the frame under the tank through or the frame tube whatever looks neat experiment with nice neat bends ect, cut the the bottom nipple off with a pair of side cutters and trim the outer cable to fitt neatly between point A&B then fitt the inner cable and cut it to the correct lenght and simply resolder the nipple back on. if I was there I would play with it for about 1/2 hour until i found a neat run and modify the cable easy job it might not be the factory run but who would pick it if it was done neat as a pin...

Hey Terry! How's it going? The bike is essentially finished (as finished as these old ones get) There are a few leaks to address and I have to get the monobloc re-sleeved at some point. But she is ridable. It's our winter here so haven't been in my shop to do to much lately. I think I submitted these photos somewhere, but I can't find them. So here is the bike in it's present state:
