Man, I love this thing! Never had a motorcycle jacket [one specifically for motorcycling] before because they looked too Wild One-ish or corney day-glo stuff. This is very subdued: It is pretty warm too, as in 50 degrees. And only $80 at Detroit Triumph. Nice, tight weave which is supposed to resist water. I took the shoulder and elbow armor out - I am a daredevil. stores.triumphdetroit.com/-strse-80/Triumph-Camden-Jacket/Detail.bok

Why did you take the armour out,Dave? Banging your elbow hurts like the dickens!

Felt less comfortable with it in, and I am of the opinion that in crash, that little bit of armor won't do much.

Dave, when I had my,uhh, unscheduled dismount from my Scram when she was only a few weeks old,I was wearing my Hein Gerike mesh jacket, which has CE armour in the elbows and shoulders.I didn't slide really,so I can't comment on the slidability of the mesh stuff, but I pretty much landed on my elbow,on a big sharp rock.(probably lucky I didn't break my collarbone). I sat there waiting for it to start hurting, and it didn't,much.I credit the armour for that.
If it's really uncomfortable,it probably doesn't fit right.I do notice the armour when I first don the jacket before every ride, but after a few minutes,I forget it.It's not going to save you from the big one,but for a minor get-off like mine,it might prevent a chipped or broken bone, and I know it saved me at least a badly bruised funny bone.
That Camden's a nice looking jacket,by the way.

yep armour saved my ass as well, ground one knee out of my leathers ,chewed the boot through to the ankle and nearly ground one gloved finger off..,
