I just fitted one of these Tuturo chain oilers to my Scrambler. The kit includes the oil reservoir, a selection of cable ties, tube and fittings to mount it to the bike. The kit costs less than £20! The main difference between it and a Scottoiler is that the Tutoro you have to turn it on and off manually, and it holds less oil than a Scottoiler, but it is £45 cheaper! I decided to make up a bracket rather than use cable ties to mount the reservoir, so I made up a bracket, found some spring clips the same size as the reservoir, and fixed it to the back of the airbox. The delivery end of the pipe comes with a wire inside the pipe so you can bend it to the sprocket, similar to a Scottoiler. I made up my own deliver bracket out of some steel tube. There is a hole in the swinging arm already that I tapped out and fixed the tube to it. I then gradually opened up the valve until I was getting 1 drop of oil per minute. Then closed the valve counting how many turns it took to close. (1 1/2 turns) So I just open the valve 1 1/2 turns when I set off, then try to remember to turn it off when I stop! At 1 drop per minute it is supposed to last approx 300 miles before filling up, time will tell!

The speed you ride Steve it'll last twice that!
Very neat.

Another nice job Steve! Very impressed with the "Steel tube" method of supporting and directing the end of the delivery pipe! Certainly looks a good (and much cheaper) alternative to the Scotoiler. Hopefully you won't have too many "puddle" incidents with remembering to turn it off! V.

I dig this very much. I wonder if they are available stateside? I shall check. Very nice job on the install Steve, that is very neat and tidy, and nicely hidden while still quite accessible. That is very nice indeed.

By the way Steve - what oil do you use in it? Do you just use a gear oil or similar? (No, not trying to start an oil thread!)

At the moment I am using the oil that came with the Scottoiler that I have got fitted to my T100. I see on Tutoro's website they have now developed an automatic oiler that operates by the movement of the bike, looks interesting! www.tutorochainoiler.com/

I was looking at that - it is competitively priced, and they ship to the US of A. I am strongly tempted to get one (or two).
