Just goes to show that sometimes the most fun rides are just out the backdoor, and not some far away supposedly great place. The photos are great, and it looks like a great trip - even though I'm not very fond of leaving the tarmac myself

yeah. these guys love the dirt.
had lunch with Jim today and he was telling me they were doing 50-60 mph on those roads. Seems fast to me.
I like the little bit I've done with my Scram, but don't feel very confident in my skills.....
Would have been a fun trip, but I think I would have slowed them down and not sure I could have gotten my bike down some of the single tracks he talked about. But he thinks it could make it.

Maybe you should go along for a shorter ride first. That will probably teach you alot about how you, and the bike, handles it. Your buddy will probably be happy that you want to learn.

Actually we've done just that. Including some single track. so far, got thru everything and haven't dropped the bike yet. He does have to wait for me when he gets to flying down the twisty dirt roads. Loose surface under my tires freaks me out and sloooows me down. He keeps telling me I'd have an easier time of it on a more suitable bike, but I love my Triumph. But it is great fun.
