Hello Fellows,
Last summer, July or so, I took a four day trip around the perimeter of New York State, which is essentially everything except the boroughs and Long Island. The trip was about 1400 miles, and I camped out all the while.
I took the Thruxton on this trip, largely because the rear tire was wearing and I wanted to use it up. Plus, it gave great gas mileage and was quite comfy to boot. Oh, and a cool looking motorbike it was, so I lent some class to the hinterlands of NY.
I went clockwise, beginning at Port Jervis and heading west along the southern border until I reached Lake Erie. It is an area of rolling farmlands and broad sweepers. Then I motored north until I reached Lake Ontario and continued sort of northeast to the Saint Lawrence River. From there northeast again until I neared the Quebec area, on to The Hudson River, then south along it.
The trip was really, really lovely; I got rained upon only once and no wild animals tried to kill and eat me, nor I them.
I have photos but cannot recall how to work all that. I'll try to figure it out.
