Not a bike, but I've been holed up sick and while working on my ped slicer, i decided my full face helmet could use a coat of paint. Going with a gloss black flat white paint scheme and a spade on the back perhaps. Took off the stickers and wow I didn't realize how dirty and nasty this thing had gotten. Sanding it first with some 600 wet and then to 1500 before i apply the first coat

Just a word of caution before you start painting. Check that the paint you are using is compatible with the material your helmet is made from, polycarbonate, fibre-glass, carbon fibre etc. I have heard that some types of paint can react with the resins in the helmet and weaken them, worth checking it out before you start!

Yup, I'm using a special primer for all types of plastic before i apply any paint so it should protect it quite nicely! Got finished with the 600 grit sandpaper today! Buying the 1500 grit this afternoon when I get a break at work.
