anybody know what size the screws are for the Tank Badges? I got my new Badge Kit yesterday and it didn't come with any screws and Triumph wants 3 bucks a screw.... Screw that!

James, Keep in mind they have those star heads with the anti-theft little rod in the middle that take a special tool to remove. It might save you from buying yours back off ebay.

James, they're 5 x 16 mm, not sure what pitch, but I think 08. What badges did you get? Thanks Bruce! I got the Classic Badge. Good choice. That's a pic of my Scram with the Classic badges up on the banner, second from the right. Does your bike have the glue on badges stock? Is that why you can't use your old screws,'cause you ain't got none? Does it have the threaded holes? I guess it does,or you wouldn't need screws.Duh. A little word of caution. Use a little Locktite on those screws, and don't torque them down too much. About two days after I put mine on, an inch and a half long crack appeared in my paint, about three inches away from the left badge. I think that when I tightened it,it was just a slightly different bend from the original badge, and it distorted the tank enough to cause the crack. I have no way of knowing that for sure, but just a coincidence? I think not. Cracks in relatively new paint don't happen for no reason. You'll be alright if you're not as ham handed as I am.Comes from too many years of working on Harleys.

Good choice. That's a pic of my Scram with the Classic badges up on the banner, second from the right. The Classic Badge just looks right on a modern classic....ya know?Does your bike have the glue on badges stock? Is that why you can't use your old screws,'cause you ain't got none? Does it have the threaded holes? I guess it does,or you wouldn't need screws.Duh. Yes, its the glue on badge..does it have the threaded holes? not sure yet , but I'm 90% sure it does.... I'll let you know in a day or so.A little word of caution. Use a little Locktite on those screws, and don't torque them down too much. About two days after I put mine on, an inch and a half long crack appeared in my paint, about three inches away from the left badge. Thanks , but I already chipped my tank 3 weeks ago in a crash[thats another thread] did you use the rubber backing with yours??? that might be why it cracked ...just a thought I think that when I tightened it,it was just a slightly different bend from the original badge, and it distorted the tank enough to cause the crack. I have no way of knowing that for sure, but just a coincidence? I think not. Cracks in relatively new paint don't happen for no reason. been thinking about modeifying the handle bar clamps like these thruxton ones, instead of buying new ones$$, cut the centre out of the stock top plate with a hacksaw, file finish to fit the bottom clamp., paint em black because I dont like silver(personal taste)and bingo you have these (pictured) and a good spot in the centre of the bars to mount a handlebar clock..

Hey Ron, I did just that on the Scrambler when I got my smaller speedo. The Scram' OE top plate has the speedo mount to it also. Had to get rid of it! Just HAD to!

Sure Ron, soon as I get the pics on the 'net. Hope to do that very soon, it's frustrating not being able to show and tell!
